There are various types of Shapeshifters, and you can either be born a Shapeshifter, you can be infected with the condition.

Shapeshifters tend to have slightly extended lifespans from ordinary humans, seeing over a century and aging at a slower rate. However Shapeshifters are are essentially immortal unless they undergo the process of conversion and become infected additionally with the curse of vampirism, but such individuals are no longer accepted in shapeshifter society and are considered abominations.

Just as with vampires, and the other races in this game, there are also many Stereotypes associated with different kinds of shapeshifters. You will need to be somewhat familar with these. Though archetypes are preferred stereotypes will give you an idea of what characterizes each of the clans and what to expect more likely than not when dealing with members of a certain clan.

Shapeshifters only possesses a Shadow   if they are additionally infected with vampirism.

Shapeshifters have the ability to recognize otherkin, such as vampires, fae, demons, angels and others on sight. But contraversely, only other shapeshifters, and those with magical abilities are able to spot a shapeshifter.

There are Pureblood Shapeshifters, Convert Shapeshifters,  Mortal Shapeshifters, Fae Shapeshifters, and Abominations, and each type of Shapeshifter has special abilities and a different place within the intricate Shapeshifter society, which is as old and as complex as that of the vampire and otherkin societies.

Shapeshifters call the process of biting someone and turning them into a werewolf infecting them, or cursing them with therianthropy. 

Shapeshifters have specific abilities they can only use under a full moon, and they find their moods and their energy levels slightly tied to the phases of the moon.

Shapeshifters typically but not always regard themselves as above mortals because of their gifts, but this is not always the case. Sometimes Shapeshifters will regard themselves not as better than mortals, but different then mortals. They have heritage, are closely connected, and are very loyal to one another and have a sense of honor and live by rules that might seem completely outside of those which mortals know and live by.

Shapeshifters and vampires typically do not get along very well. Most especially werewolves and vampires, who go together like oil and water. Other types of shapeshifters do not like vampires, for various reasons. Kitsune because they seem them as lacking honor, Leopard man because vampires tend to not respect their extremely territorial natures and the way they exhaust the resources of the land and treat mortals without respect.

Common Powers  are available to all Shapeshifters, andBreed Powers  are additionally used to round out the characters you create. All powers are subject to approval. 

Shapeshifters have in common with the vampire that they have energy deficiencies which drive them to feed however they are set apart from vampires in that vampires have the ability to feed themselves and extend their lives beyond the normal mortal lifespan. Shapeshifters however are still mortal, even if they have lifespans which are longer than an ordinary human, living  an average of 150-200 years. They will die if they do not feed, but they will not live forever unless they are also infected with vampirism.
